This thread is like 4 years old, let see Savage found that rifle faulty, but failed to replace its barrel, instead they send me LRPV in different caliber with tons of issues... So I had to fix everything myself and I'm happy with what I did.

Good point, I tried their models 11, 111, LRP and LRPV and all had problems, lots of them...

My latest load was with 142gr SMK and 42gr of RL-17, I clocked 5 shots 2867, 2879, 2879, 2873, 2875 fps cold bore shot was the slowest, but it grouped nicely .43 MOA@300yds

Marlin is owned by Remington, so I think its their model 7 of some sort...

I will use whatever I have now and as soon as I locate proper material I'll make a new one, this steel is to ductile, spanner wrench and 4-jaw left many marring marks, but it was good learning experience. I added few finishing touches to the spider I made and I think its ready to spin ;-)
