the rest should support the stock only and ideally mimic where the forehand holds the rifle. Never place the barrel on the rest as the resonance and kick will spray shots all over the place. The other thing you could check is that the stock is secured properly, if its too loose this won't...

the barrels short but even so you should be looking at sub to 1" max. Have you experimented with load charges too??? i.e reduce the powder. More doesn't always = more accurate. Id also look at the stock to action fit- make sure the barrels free floating and its not resting on anything...

Im a 'Harris' man too- i had a few bolts etc vibrate loose so took an hour to un-do all the bolts etc. and loctite them in place- they haven't moved in 3 years!!! Personally i prefer the non swivel base type. My preference is to adjust the legs for any slope etc then the bi pod is rock...

For that sort of distance id be looking at x24 minimum and ideally x32 and make sure the reticule is fine enough too- the buckmasters would obscure your view too much at this range unless your hunting elephants, the elite would do the job but id say you need more mag to make a clean well placed...
