Icekra, I have not shot VN 165' but have experienc with h1000. My personal preference is RL22, but h 1000 is a good powder as well. I would start at about 80-81 grains and work up. Fed 215 primers are the best I feel. You should easily get 3400 fps with the 28 in barrel. That's plenty fast, and hits plenty hard. In that barrel length, the 1000 may be the ideal powder.
