Looks good. Its your gun. You decide if it is over scoped or not. You know what you need it for. I think you did just right for the gun. Even better if you got a deal on it. I would never put a fixed 4x on nothing.

Have the scope and they are marked in moa. Very nice scope love it.

I was in the same boat as you not knowing if 6 was to much for the thick stuff. I was looking at the same scope as you. I ended up going with the 4x16. I would have hated it if 6x was the reason I missed a big buck.

Check out some of the new vortex scopes. Very good scope for the money. I have been a sworo fan forever but I am in the same boat as you with kids and I was looking for something with a better price. Good warranty and clear optics. I have the viper hs 4x16x44.

I was getting ready to mount my new Talley bases on my Tikka T3 and there were 2 different length of srews. I called them and they told me to put the short screw under the ring. Why does this matter? Has anyone mounted talley bases and had the same problem?

I was looking for the samething as you are. I ended up going with vortex viper hs 4x16 model. It is a lower turret and caped. I like the lower caped turret for hunting. Not as big to get in the way. Very good optics and the turret moves perfect. You can us the moa or get a custom turret...

I have almost the same gun but a 270 wsm. I just got the Viper HS 4 x 16 x 44. I am hoping to get the distance you are wanting and be comfortable shooting this range. I cant decide to turret it or just use the moa. Or trade for the LR version. I will have to watch your post to see comments...
