Hi Double Bypass, the ring is nightforce, and the base is Seekins custom rail base for Alpine action(20 MOA).

Thanks guys. Eaglet, the main reason for going SAUM instead of WSM is better barrel life, it has longer neck than WSM, 0.311 VS 0.244, in theory this gives better barrel life specially around throat area. But I haven’t been able to verify this. 2nd reason is the case capacity, Kirby helped us...

Just say big thank you to Kirby from Allen precision, Jim from Borden action, Mike from ABS barrel, Tom from Manners stock I have shot my personal best 3 shot group at 0.189 inch yesterday. Before that I have never thought I'm capable of shooting this kind group, or to make my rifle shoot that...

    Single-shot VS. repeater action

Hi Crane, Thanks for the information, it'll be great if Seekins can make 1 piece mount for Jim's action. I just got my action yesterday, NICE! BTW, if you don't mind of 2 piece base then you can get two pieces of remington front base, just make sure the screw hole size is 8x40. Cheers Yibai...

    Single-shot VS. repeater action

Thanks GG, that's very helpful information. The rifle will be definitely a field gun, to be able to shoot 1000 yard will be nice but it's bit impracticable here in New Zealand, just think how long I have to walk Thanks Yibai

    Single-shot VS. repeater action

Hi Crane, Borden's action is different from remington's, the borden's action is straight while in remington the back end base is lower than front end, also Jim uses 8-40 screws which is much stronger thant Remington's 6-48(??I think)

Hi Paal, No I haven't found any one piece base. I'll go with two piece bases for now and see how it goes... I think 7075 is very strong, according to this: http://www.tpsproducts.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=48
