Funny you should mention that, I am as well.

I have a 308 MVP in an MDT stock I bought before Mossberg started mounting the MVP on MDT stocks. They are rock solid.

I own several of the MVP series and absolutely love them. The Predator version does very well with 178gr as a steady diet. The patrol version that I restocked shoots lights out with 168gr and a can, for that matter all of them love 168gr.

I am new to Missoula and looking for a shooting community to hangout with.

I use a piece of pipe insulation that I have fitted to the top of the stock and then have a stock pad with a pouch over the top. Perfect cheek weld for me.

I like to use my Goretex Bivy bag over my mummy bag with a .mil poncho stretched over some fiberglass tent poles place in the corner grommets (sort of in an X fashion. It works great, stays low to the ground (does not get blown away by the wind) and helps keep heatable space to a minimum. Here...
