    7mm PRC

Hello All I’m thinking about having a barrel made in 7mm PRC for my Remington Rifle. I’m under the impression that you don’t need the 26” long barrel? I’m considering the 1:8 twist and 5r rifling. This I think will shoot most any .284 bullets quite well especially the heavier bullets. I do...

Brand New Garmin 755T is Not Operating

I bought a New in the Box Garmin 755T in 2018. Due to Covid working and a rotator cup surgery I didn’t get to go hunting and use it till this year. I took it out and for the first time pulled the protective cover off the face and couldn’t even charge it! I made a call to Garmin and at that time...

What to do with 280 Rem mountain rifle

I had the same rifle and I converted it to a .280 AI. I got rid of the cheap factory stock for an HS Precision stock & changed the trigger. I put a 26” tube and had both the barrel and bolt fluted. Mine shoots a load of 63 grains of Retumbo with a 168 Berger Hunting bullet. Excellent accuracy...

338-06 Ackley Imp on Quick Loads

Hello all hope everyone is doing ok. So as my title says I’m wondering if someone would run the 338-06 Ackley Imp with Retumbo mag primer CCI250 & the 200 grn Nosler E-Tip bullet. Hopefully the muzzle pressure will be less than 10,000 at the muzzle. Thank You very much for the help.

Modern Rifle Loads for 7x57 Mauser not for older bolt actions!

Yes you are correct with quick loads that program saves powder bullets and time! I had it but someone took my computer tower when we moved and yes you know it the program was in the tower so I lost a very valuable piece of my reloading equipment. If you keep the muzzle pressure below 10,000 your...

Modern Rifle Loads for 7x57 Mauser not for older bolt actions!

The 7x57 Mauser loads found in any manual are very poor! I mean they are not up to date with modern powders. The manuals show the pressures being in the 43,000 range and less. This cartridge in a modern bolt action should be able to achieve way more than what is available from the Mfg. Thank you...

Do you remember the first centerfire rifle you fired and do you reload for that caliber today?

A 6mm Remington! Shot my first deer with it and still reload for it! It was actually my Moms as my Dad had bought two REM 700 ADL’s with a 20” tube! I think he paid a whopping $99 a piece for them!

What to do with older 22-250

I would have it blue printed and rebarelled to what caliber you would like in a short action. You have many many choices. Do some research and try PAC Nor in Oregon.

FFP scope for an elk rifle

Have you looked at or heard of Arken Scopes? They seem to have a nice product at a very affordable price.

    Anyone try 7828 in a 280ai

I've used IMR 7828 with my .280 AI with a 26" tube but I found that Retumbo gave me better accuracy. this with the 168 Berger Hunting VLD. Nosler brass CCI 250 168 Berger 65.0 grns. does a number on deer I'll tell you that!

280 bullet choice for mule deer

I shoot both the standard .280 and the .280 AI. If I were going Big Mule Deer hunting I'd opt for the 160 Sierra HPBT game king or the Berger 168 Hunting VLD both do an excellent job of putting game down as always it's up to the one shooting to do his/her job but those two bullets are awesome!
