I ordered a Thunderbeast suppressor for mine. I have the brake on it until the suppressor arrives. I feel like it will reduce recoil as much as the brake.

This is my .338 LM build. I definitely recommend that caliber. 28" Proof Research barrel, McMillan A3 stock. Rifle as pictured is 12.5 lbs. That's with a 2 lb ATACR on it. I went with the longer barrel for (close to) optimum velocity.

Here are my 6.5 Creedmoor, .300 Win Mag, and .338 Lapua Mag. I think they look MUCH cooler than regular steel barrels.

The reason I like them so much is the significant reduction in weight.

All my hunting rifles have Proof Research barrels on them. They all shoot sub half MOA. My 6.5 Creedmoor is 1/4 MOA to 600 yards. That is a s far as I have taken it. The range at the gun club doesn't go past that.

That's definitely the route I'm trying to get him to take. I know my builder's rifle will definitely shoot, with absolutely no issues. He doesn't have an action though. That is probably going to put him over the $2K max.

Like I've already said. I have a builder very close by who does as good a job or better than anyone out there. And I can make that statement in total confidence. He's a lot cheaper than all those custom places too. But I think the guy I'm asking these questions for is trying to keep it around...

I read that on their website; however I don't think he wants to pay that much for one; especially when he can have my local builder do it with a Proof barrel for the same price. I promise you, the hunting rifles he builds have target rifle accuracy.
