Hi i am looking at building a long range rifle for 600 to1000 yards. My dealer recomends 243 auction neck brass up to 260 put on good barrel and trigger add nice stock. he reconds he has won comps with this set up. Does this sound like a good combo or not.

I have just brought my son a savage 12 vlp 223 with 1 in 7 twist for long rang shooting. Has any one got one and are they as good as my dealer says they are. i no that hand loads are better but what factory loads do yoy find the best for this rifle.:cool:

iam thinking of getting a sps varmint but are the barrels floating . if not does it make a big diff. i am only starting to get back in to shooting and don't wont to spend big bucks just yet.
