What is the longest shot you have made on a live target

Longest was an 711yd estimated holdover shot in the late 80s. Remington 700 BDL 25-06 100gr Nosler Partition bullets and a Tasco world class 3-9 scope. DRT from a high shoulder hit. Not too proud of that as it was on a "bet you can't hit it" deal. Later ranged because it was shot from a gate...

    Father Daughter hunt

Congratulations to you both. My daughter harvested her first deer at age 7. She has 2 kids of her own now but we still go whitetail hunting a minimum of one evening during our rifle season. This season her 5 year old tagged along. Some of our best talks growing up, especially the serious ones...

What’s the BEST down right there (DRT) loaded ammunition/bullet for whitetail/pronghorn in 6.5 Creedmoor?

I have had excellent results with the Winchester Deer Season 125 ammo. It shoots sub half moa in my Browning and I have had DRT results out to 491yds thus far on Whitetails. I just got a Tikka T3 Tac A1 and it shoots it just as well. Even better......it's cheap!

7 year olds first deer!!! Proud Dad

That's what the family tradition of hunting is all about. What a wonderful story, pics and video. Congratulations to Amelia and Dad. My daughter killed her first deer when she was 7. She is a great shot, including long range. Yesterday her son, my 4 yo Grandson, and I went to the farm and...

    seniors with shaking hands

I too have an Essential Tremor. I am also a RN of 38 years who happens to like long range hunting. So first off check out medication for the tremor. Mine was so bad patients would get a look of terror when I came at them with my IV equipment. Using a flat screwdriver was frustrating. I...

    Next Rifle.....HELP!

Sounds like sound advice Marty. I am overburdened with keeping up with too many rifles and the ammo to shoot in them. I have promised several to family when I am done with them.....that day is close for some of them. Let the younger ones worry about it.

    Next Rifle.....HELP!

I have a Browning Western hunter stainless with one of those brakes. I took it off before firing figuring I didn't need the extra ear damage. To say I was upset with the accuracy is an understatement. I called Browning and told them I have shotguns that shoot tighter groups. They advised the...

    Next Rifle.....HELP!

Keep the comments coming. I'm down to Browning, Savage, Bergara or Ruger. I will handle a CA Mesa again before its a "no" but the extra $400 may be best used in good bipod or trigger and a spare magazine, a chronograph and load development.

    Next Rifle.....HELP!

I have bullets, powder and primers....just need brass and dies. Oh, and a gun to shoot them in!!!

    That's One Fine Looking Cartridge

Thanks Nimrodmar. That's one of my final 4. That, the Bergara HMR, Browning Max long range and Ruger Hawkeye LRT. Still can't decide. Did your High Country come with a brake? I wouldn't overlook a good deal on a Browning HC long range either. Hoping folks on here will say enough good or bad...
