    Bullets for the 6.5 CM

I haven't done load development for a long time. I just use 42.5gr of H4350, and use the 140 ELD-M, 140 Berger Hybrid, and 142 SMK at 20 thousandths off the lands.

    6.5 CM or 260 Rem

The solution was to switch to using a mandrel to size the neck instead of the sizing die button, and only using Alpha brass. The other solution was to switch to Creedmoor, get the same performance, and not worry about donuts because the bullet isn't seated that far into the case.

Favorite gun and cartridge for hogs?

I've shot a lot of pigs with a No 4 MkII Enfield and 180 gr soft tips.

Good scope for hunting and load development...

I think the next scope I try will be the 4-32 NX8 with the Mil XT reticle. I also like the Mil-C...at least it looks good in the 7-35 ATACR.

    belted cartridges

Just use good brass and good dies and there shouldn't be a problem. I think most of the issues are imagined or self inflicted when it comes to belts. Source: Have shot out a 300WM barrel with no issues in reloading.

    Let’s talk favorite hunting rigs!

Its by a small company called All Composites. I think they were making carbon fiber race car parts before they started making stocks. The stock is a little expensive ($2000-$2500) which is probably rich for a lot of people's blood. But it doesn't require bedding, and weighs a pound and a half...

    Let’s talk favorite hunting rigs!

Here is another option if wood isn't your style. This is a loaner stock from my gunsmith. I ordered one for my Surgeon, but I wanted to try one out first. It's lighter than any stock I have used. It's 100% carbon fiber and is lighter than anything I have used. Just for reference, without the...

    Hello from Alaska

How far is ELR here? Who's running it? How do I get involved? I've shot a few ELR matches in the Southeast. Finished 1st, 2nd, and 4th in "light gun" classes.

    Long range mule deer rifle

How about 6.5x55 Swedish? Or a custom throat on a 30-06 barrel? I'm betting you could get respectable velocity out of 200gr Berger's with the correct throat length and some RL26?

    Hello from Alaska

Hello, New member here and long time lurker that just moved from Georgia all the way to Fairbanks Alaska. I've been a dedicated long range shooter for a good part of my life...it's probably my main hobby and outlet. I've shot PRS, Palma, and Across the Course Service Rifle. I also have a...

    Wind Drift formula

This is one of the methods I use for my mil based scope. Each number represents the miles per hour that it takes to move the bullet half a mil at that distance. For instance if I dial for a certain distance, and the nearest number is 4...that means each 4 miles per hour of wind is equal to...

    6.5 CM or 260 Rem

I've had both. I had problems with case neck donuts in 260 Remington when loaded with 140s at 2.950. I don't have that issue with the 6.5 Creedmoor, and get the same performance.

    Let’s talk favorite hunting rigs!

I think it's around 10-11 pounds as it sits. I'm going to get one of the new NF NX8 2.5-20x50mm after I get settled into Alaska. I also might get another barrel in 6.5PRC spun up for it.
