Here is an update from one of the photographers from the guys over at Texas. Though he wasn't the one actually recording, he was there. Here is his response to me asking about it and if he was the one who shot the footage.
"No that would be Michael Bettersworth of Butter Films...I was there...
It seems this has started a sort of healthy competition (or i hope stays healthy) and the American team has contacted the Russians and said they will be attempting a record breaking shot again.
The Texas shot Jim made wasn't actually a record at the time even though they state so (I think?)...
Gotcha, I'll take your advice and contact them, seems they are closed today though sadly.
If anyone has the answer please post here just for double confirmation.
The question was: What height scope rings would I need for what I'm purchasing.
You sir, are correct.
Is this what I should be looking at then?
Badger Ordnance 1-Piece Maximized Picatinny-Style 20 MOA Elevated
It's 110-116 (I own a 111).
This is why I made this thread just in case I made an error, so thank you so much for the help. You probably saved me a lot of time...
First off thanks for all the replies.
I will be shooting 300-1000m with this gun (target).

I would say its more likely we have more population with the lapua and that's why we see more recorded groups, but I...
This is for a 7mm wsm. in a savage with stock barrel (24" with 1-9.5" twist)
Hornady Superformance 7mm Rem Mag 139 Grain GMX SPF
Muzzle velocity - 3,240
Any others you guys would recommend?
Oh don't worry I know (like many other things as well not just shooting ;D ).
However as for just recorded proof (as silly proof as it may be with cuts and scene changes), this is the furthest recorded shot that I have found to date.
Interesting guy to if you do some research on the shooter.
Yea I was leaning towards the .375 with its insane BC, i figured the velocity it holds would keep it steadier subsonic, especially in the grain's you have listed there.
That build looks scary.
I was also wandering about SPUR mount. Is it because of its single piece that you choose it over...
