Thanks for all the replys so far. Does anyone have any real knowledge of the Browning MAX Long Range? Seems like a good value and From what research Ive done seems like a good rifle. I'm drawn to it out of the rifles in that $1k price range.

Steel, paper. To get accurate at 1000 yards and everything in between is my first goal. Beyond that some point down the road.

How is factory ammo availability of the 6mm compared to the 6.5mm? Im sure it can all be bought online fairly easily but thinking more of your local sporting goods store stock?

Good info. We have some guys that hunt feral hogs for us weekly and they all swear by the 6.5 creed. I will probably end up going that way I just want to do my due diligence before buying another rifle.
