    >280 Remington velocity

I am hesitant to give out my load data, but I get 2975 using Nosler 150BTs and PTs. I use h4350, which some consider a little fast. I am loading to SAAMI specs "<FOR A 270Win>". According to Quick Loads I'm just under 62000psi. My gun is a Zastava action with a 26" Shaw barrel. You can go from...

    New Bullet Design?

According to Nosler, that is how they designed the Accubond to perform. They do it by bonding and a hevier base. capt david

New .30 cal 168grn Nosler Ballistic Tip

I talked to Nosler about that bullet. I didn't ask about the BC, but did find out that it is made with a 'heavier' jacket at the base. It uses the same base as the new, last year, 180BTs. This is something similar to what they did to the 120gn 7mm many years ago, making it into a deer bullet...

    shaw barrels

Friends and I own 4 mausers and one 700 with shaw barrels: two 7x57s, a280, a 35 whelen and a 257bob(the 700). All, but the 35, shoot consistent sub inch groups with enough 1/2" groups to call them very accurate. None of these are considered particulary accurate cartridges and the buddy with...

    .280 loading help

For deer only I think the 140BTs are fine, but if pigs are also on the menu I'd go with 150BTs. The're tougher IMHO. If it is only pigs I use the 150 Partition. capt david

    Not too expensive scope?

I'll keep that in mind. I guess I should have added that I would prefer a variable. capt david

    Not too expensive scope?

Long range, for me, is 500yds as that is the longest distance that I feel comfortable. I shoot a 280 Rem with a 26" barrel and 150BTs @a little under 3000fps. I am looking for a scope for under $200 that has repeatable clicks. I currently have a Simmons 44mag with target knobs. I would call it...

    long range practice program

That's it, thanks. Have you used it? What's your opinion? Are there any others, maybe some more hunting oriented? thanks capt david

    long range practice program

I, at one time, found a program used by long range shooters. It involved a target, in the desert, that was placed at different distances with different wind. the object was to teach/train one to estimate where to aim. Does anyone know what I'm talking about? I also found one that offered shots...

long range steel targets - suggestions?

I bougnt the perfect thing from an outfit in Arazona, I believe. I'm having a oldtimers moment now and can't bremember the name. A hanging frame, a 4" and an 8" gong were less than 150 deliverd. Biger and smaller gongs were avaliable. If someone dosen't know the game I'll find it. capt david

I am thinking about a 260 Rem or 260 Ackley Improved

Can you get a 6.5x55 in that Winchester? I believe that they are longer than 700SAs, so you might. capt david

    308 loads

I load for a Whitworth commercial Mauser. It shoots SSTs under an inch with 45.5 and 46gns Varget under an inch. I tried the same loads with a BT and it was about 1.5 inch. 46.5 grains shoots 150 Power Point under an inch also. They are cheap ($11 per 100)for practice and up to 200yds, but have...
