    280AI / 168gr BergerVLD hunting

i'm shooting 180 bergers 2900 fps with of a 1-9 twist shilen barrel with reloder 22. if you have the twist to do it the 100 fps slower is more than made up by the higher bc and weight of the 180.

    .280 ackley 180 vld load

i've got 2 guns that shoot one hole with remington primers so i'll stick with them. at what point, grain wise, do i need to step up to a magnum primer?

    .280 ackley brass

bruno was out too. nosler says they expect to ship from the factory to retailers sometime in november. too late for me. just ordered a box of 20 nosler custom 280 ackley rounds for $55.. kind of expensive for 20 pieces of brass but thats wwhat you get for shooting goofy rounds.

    .280 ackley brass

anyone know where i can get some new brass in .280 ackley? i can't seem to find any anywhere. i've got a new shilen barrel that will be here tomorrow and i need to send some brass off to hornady to get a modified case made so i can check the throat length before i bring it to the gunsmith in...

    spring calling

around here where there's a farn every 2-3 miles they don't respond to the rabbit distress at all during the spring and summer. so if they don't show up, it doesn't matter. i use the adult canine death cry to stop them anyway and usually they'll go out 600-700 yards and sit and complain...

243 cal. (95 gr Bergers) on Coyotes

make sure your shooting the hunting vld. the targets are too unreliable. every coyote i shot with my .260 130 vld hunting bullet dropped and the bullet didn't come out anywhere. shots were from 70 to 650 yards. the ony blood came out the mouth. entrance was almost impossible to find.

Savage 110 long action OAL max

anyone know what the max overall length of a savage 110 long action with an internal mag? I'm looking to rebarrel it into a .280 ackley with 180 berger vlds. also, is there a refit simial to a wyatt's available for the savage and if so, how hard is it to install?

had two more come in to five yards away at 11:30 this morning. I love spring/early summer coyote hunting. nothing but puppy distress.

    Range finder

i've got a twice used leupold vxiv camo unit for sale. $300 bucks. works good for deer, didn't cut it for coyotes. i upgraded to the zeiss but it was $600. i'm sure some leica 1200's will be available when the 1600's come out but i would imagine they might be hard to get until hunting season is...

    spring calling

here in se north dakota, i regularly shoot 20+ out of season (feb thru sept) coyotes. those areas will never be without an excess of coyotes. coyotes have three things that control their numbers; disease, food availability and other coyotes. if i shoot one, i'm letting another one live. as long...

    Concentricity guage

Which is the best, or perhaps better, concentricity guage? I know it's actually runout so i'm a little leary about what to buy if they can't even name it correctly. I see the Hornady say you can correct the runout with their model but i'm somewhat inclined to buy the sinclair model as they...

    ziess or leica rangefinder

i picked up the zeiss and compared it to some buddies leica 1200 and leica geovids and i'd have to give it the advantage. now i don't know how strong their batteries were as mine were brand new but the zeiss seemed to pick out rocks and trees a hair better than the leica's did and definitely...

what are your opinions of the dednutz game reaper mounts?

they are the only mounts i use. i also have the freedom reaper on my ar15. comes off and back on the rail dead nuts on every time. and for the price, you can't beat them.
