i'm shooting 180 bergers 2900 fps with of a 1-9 twist shilen barrel with reloder 22. if you have the twist to do it the 100 fps slower is more than made up by the higher bc and weight of the 180.

i've got 2 guns that shoot one hole with remington primers so i'll stick with them. at what point, grain wise, do i need to step up to a magnum primer?

anyone have any good loads for a .280 ai 1-9 twist 26 in barrel with a 180 berger vld? i'm thinking reloder 22, nosler brass and some remington magnum primers(if i need them?) thanks

bullseye was out and the everything hunters only had 280.

bruno was out too. nosler says they expect to ship from the factory to retailers sometime in november. too late for me. just ordered a box of 20 nosler custom 280 ackley rounds for $55.. kind of expensive for 20 pieces of brass but thats wwhat you get for shooting goofy rounds.

anyone know where i can get some new brass in .280 ackley? i can't seem to find any anywhere. i've got a new shilen barrel that will be here tomorrow and i need to send some brass off to hornady to get a modified case made so i can check the throat length before i bring it to the gunsmith in...

around here where there's a farn every 2-3 miles they don't respond to the rabbit distress at all during the spring and summer. so if they don't show up, it doesn't matter. i use the adult canine death cry to stop them anyway and usually they'll go out 600-700 yards and sit and complain...

make sure your shooting the hunting vld. the targets are too unreliable. every coyote i shot with my .260 130 vld hunting bullet dropped and the bullet didn't come out anywhere. shots were from 70 to 650 yards. the ony blood came out the mouth. entrance was almost impossible to find.

anyone know what the max overall length of a savage 110 long action with an internal mag? I'm looking to rebarrel it into a .280 ackley with 180 berger vlds. also, is there a refit simial to a wyatt's available for the savage and if so, how hard is it to install?
