After much reading of reviews and some comparisons in stores, I purchased Swaro SLC binos last year. I compared them to best vortex and SLCs were much better - much crisper images. The other bino I was strongly considering was the Leica Geovid rangefinder combo in similar price range online...
I have two north face duffel bags thst work great for traveling and have lifetime warranties. The wheels sound great to have but I think the added weight (and potential failure point) is a drawback. I also believe a really big bag means you'll load it over the weight allowed for normal checked...
I'm interested in learning more about experiences using hornady Eld-x bullets for hunting. I am considering this for my .308 and 7 Rem. Mag. I'm mostly curious about its performance in short range. I've read some information on this site and others and believe it will work well at longer range...
Gotcha. I am doing the same. I just purchased my first Swarovski. It's a Z5 5-25x50. I was considering vx6 4-24x50 too. I really like the idea of illuminated reticle on leupold but opted for lighter weight of swaro...all options considered -weight ended up being deciding factor for me.
Thanks for replies...very helpful.

I called McMillan. Those stocks sound great, but I don't want to spend $1000 on stock at this point. I'd prefer to buy a new lightweight rifle which is one of my main desires right now.
Well, I got lucky and found one on eBay. It's a Bell & Carlson. I just received it and my barrel and...
I need some advice. I've been on a kick to reduce weight of my 10lb rifle so that is easier to carry on hunts in mountains over long distances. I will use a backpack, but on past hunts I find that I like to carry my rifle in hand when I'm hunting so I really prefer lightweight. I have used...
