been in the market for a new hunting rifle. I already own a 6.5 creedmoor but I like the looks on paper the PRC. anyone hunt or shoot both? how much better at long range and even shorter range does it perform?

I have a HMR in 6.5. How does the ridge feel for hunting. With a scope does it seem too heavy. My hmr is kinda heavy for carrying around a lot but I live the way it shoots. Is hot a tikka in 30/06 last weekend and even though it’s a nice rifle it kicks the crap out of you.

I have one in 6.5. Have not had a chance to shoot it much because of the weather. The couple times I have shot it were not to impressive. Was getting more flier that it thought I should but admittedly have not gave it a good chance yet. Most reports I read about have been great. Keep trying...

friend of mine wants to start loading for his 06 he likes Hornady bullets. What are some good powders? I have some 4350. His goal is to shoot some 400 yard shots on our range.

have not had time to even bore sight. I don't think it was the zero stop. it was adjusted al the way to bottom best I can tell.

Thanks guys. I will check he zero stop. Sound like the problem. I wanted to try the medium profile rings anyway. I hope to get a chance this afternoon.

UPDATE: replaced my 2 piece mounts with 1 piece. Also replaced my rings with medium instead of high profile. The 1 piece will allow me to shim if needed. Could not shoot today due to a monsoon rain.

I am want to hunt so I would like to be able to zero at 100 yards. Any more ideas? I did not have much time to investigate before I had to leave...maybe a non 20 moa base?

Got my Leupold vx3 6.5-20x50 LRP mounted on my bergara HMR. At 100 yards it was about 4” high and I was out of elivation a justment trying to Bring it down. My bases are Leupold 2 piece with 20 moa and rings are high. Do I need to shim? Any ideas

The vx6 would be nice but right now is more than I care to spend.

anyone use the leupold that I have? vx 3 6.5 x 20 x 50 30mm tube. I have a couple 3x9 vx2's. One is atleast 30 years old and still good.
