Bullet recommendation for 300 win mag

Nothing under 180gr. The heavier the better for long shots.

Does this happen to anyone else?

Yeah too many are trying it around here too. It makes me find differnt tactics that work. I find that a small coyote will not be brave enough to leave his zone. The big alfas dont seem to care where they are. If you can fool a big dog into coming to a call he will cross roads and fences.

Does this happen to anyone else?

Two out of seven is not a very good day. The dogs that come to calls have to be killed because they are so easily educated and will not come in next time. Time to stop taking them to school and start sending them to the big gut pile in the sky.

    So Guys, What Seven?

Thinking about another custom. Im leaning towards the 7mm. I already have a good 700+ yard 7mm rem mag with 160 accubonds. What im after is the 7 rum or the 7 stw with a 1-8 twist so I could shoot the 180 bergers. Is one any better than the other. The Allen mag is a little to overbore...

    7mm am

What kind of barrel life can be expected by a cartridge that holds over 100 grains of powder? My guess would be 500-700 rounds? Is this right?

    Fur with no holes

thanks Coyboy. I do perfer to load my own ammo, so unless there is no other options besides full metal jackets (I won't use them) I will continue my search. Does anyone have expierence with Sierra Blitz or Blitzking bullets?

    Fur with no holes

I need a good fur friendly bullet for the 223. My rifle likes them between 50- 55 grains. I have used hornady A-maxes with good luck but they are really hard to find where I live. the sierrs matchkings make a pretty large exit hole at 223 velocities. Any help would be great.

Need expert advice on my Long range Gun build

I am currently putting together a 6.5-284 norma for f class comptition. this rifel will wear a Shelin select match barrel because that is what is available to me. All the big name barrel makers provide top notch tubes none is really a whole lot better than others. The guy that can answer your...

Need expert advice on my Long range Gun build

On a Savage, the only thing that timing does is make the bolt lift a little bit easier. It is really just a little bit too. As far as truing, The savage has a floating bolt head which you already know. What this does is help keep every thing straight and in line. It pretty much makes up that...

    Hair Brained Idea?????

Brass is kinda hard to find for a 6.5 rem mag. It is very easy to change the bolt face on a savage. Even easier than swapping barrels.

    Quick savage question

Not really sure about your model but savage is really good to deal with. They would be happy to send you the trigger you want for a small charge. The reason I like savage rifles is because they are soo easy to work on. The trigger would take 10 mintues to change.

    Varmint gun

I love Savage rifles. I have several and they all shoot great. The only issue i have ever had is with feeding. But a little time spent on mag tweeking fixes that right up. The model 12 might be a single shot so this may not be an issue. If that is the only problem they have the price is...

    Another Savage Question

I just picked up a savage model 112 sieries J single shot with a heavy 26 inch barrel in 25-06. Just wondering if these might be ideal for a semi custom or is the rem 40x a better option? Any info or opinions you guys have would be great.
