260 rem vers 6.5 Creedmoor?

I understand and didn't intend to make a rem vers savage debate or ruffle feathers.
It sucks that I've got 3800$ investment in a guy. That can only shoot 1.5" groups @100 yards and my old ruger that I payed 320$ for it with shoot 3/4" groups and it's had horses roll on it it's been ran over with four wheelers. Lol
And not one gun shop in the TV in idaho will tell me that a NEW rem is better that a savage.
And before they pulled all the 700 from the shelf the ones I've handled had issues that were visible off the wall lime bolts not closing ext.
It's all based off experiences and personal preference.
Now on the other hand my older rem 700sps 25/06 is a tack driver with any and all ammo! And that gun I'll never sell.
I'm not big in to custom guns or getting custom work done to make a gun shoot. I'd like to be but my budget dose not support that habit. So I'm happy with getting a gun out of a box and putting decent optics on it and shooting with my freinds and fam. And that's what it's all about.
I'll probably never shoot a animal out to 1000 yards but I'd sure like to practice until I can't say I can hit a target at that range.

Most likely the gun isn't to blame......Sounds like a crappy gunsmith issue to me, if you've got $3,800 into a gun and work, and it won't shoot. My smith can get one shooting for under $300....

The 700 action itself is NOT to blame 99% of the time, it's mostly the barrel, or something else needing tweaked, like bedding and floating, proper torquing of the action screws (65 in. lbs.), etc... Little things that most people overlook.

If a factory barrel won't shoot after a bore lap, truing & bedding the action & lug, and floating the barrel (shouldn't cost more than $500 TOPS)....It most likely needs a new barrel.

And all of them shoot out of box with no gunsmithing.
And I save up and buy the most expensive gun that I've ever bought and it don't shoot.
And it's not the guns fault??
Then I have the worst luck in the world..

Rite now the sendero is getting a timney a break and the stock bedded and if it don't shoot when I get it back it's going down the road!

Trij makes great products, although I've never used one of their hunting scopes....Just their ACOGs.

Geeze... $400 for rings and a base? **** son, that's a chunk of change.

You can get a EGW HD base for $72 and it will be just as nice and strong as a NF base. You can get Seekins Precision rings for $120 a set, and they're beefier than NF rings.

As for scopes to get you to 1K....

The new Nightforce SHV with the MOAR reticle. Comes in right under your budget, plus, with those rings and base, you save $200...

I lost count of mine a long time ago... You can never have enough. I've built 5 customs since January, and trust me, I am nowhere near wealthy or even comfortable. I actually make crap-money and skrimp and save to feed my passion of guns and reloading. I've done without alot to buy the things I have, so don't think I'm just some rich dude talking smack. I'm not.

I know the feeling....Try buying a brand new Weatherby Accumark (after 4 of your prized hunting rifles got stolen, which I'll never get back) to replace those guns, that won't even shoot sub-MOA..... Just that rifle retails for $2200... You know what mine does now....Sits in the safe without a scope on it. The barrel would be more useful to me as a tomato stake...

I haven't sent it back yet, because it's not a priority on my list.

I got the trijicon 5×20×50 and bought Warne base and rings.
Whent out to sight it in and the 8th shot the scope falls off of the ground. So I go back to store and they re mount it then I go back and it dose it again.
So then I go back and tell then to shove it up there *** and they give me the money back on bass and rings and I go to a different store and they tell me for my 1000 yard goal I need a nightforce 20moa rail and nitghforce rings to keep the scope planted on a hard kicking gun.
And they were 200 each??
So yes I'm starting to think my luck sucks.
But that scope has not fallen of yet!!
And the store above mounted a scope on my 17hmr and my boys 17 and bolth of them fell off to that store will never see my wallet again!!

Man....That really is some bad luck, or the idiot twisting the screws didn't have a clue what he was doing. I've never trusted a store to put a scope on my rifles since I was probably 16. I've been doing all my own work since then. I trust myself alot more than some jackleg off the street that works for a big box store like Cabelas, or Bass Pro, or Gander Mountain. Some of those people working there look like they've never even shot a gun before. LOL

The store I worked for was a very small locally-owned outdoors store. We did work right the first time, although sometimes things do happen that you can't predict. All man-made products will have lemons, and will eventually fail at some point in its life.

But 4 times in a row, on 3 different guns......Nah, that's installer error, not bad luck.

Mud didn't come right out and say it but man, you gotta learn how to mount your own scopes - especially with the luck you've been having. If you don't do it yourself you can't properly set scope distance from your eye and you are just counting on luck.

You can buy a plastic stand to set the gun on for $15. Level the gun, line the crosshairs up with a plumb bob (a string with something heavy hanging on it). Then slowly tighten up the screws.

Lol and I think some of it was the poor ring choice dew to the fact that I'm a tite *** and tryed to skimp..
There's no sence putting 40 rings on a 1k gun with a 1k scope..
I'm not the brightest tool in the shed but I'm trying to learn from all with way more experience. .
