Need Scope for STW

If you have the money for a Nightforce....Then that's what I'd go with.
What distance will you be shooting? That can help us to help you determine what magnification you want.
Personally about the best hunting scope for close to long range I can think of is the Nightforce NXS 5.5-22x56 with the MOAR reticle. Gives you the low magnification for closer shots, and the higher magnification for further away shots.
If I had the money, I'd be running a NF NXS 8-32x56 with the MOAR, but if you plan on hunting inside of 300 yards, the 8x minimum magnification makes alot of folks uncomfortable.
Personally, I won't be shooting anything inside of 300 yards with my STW (unless I'm sighting my rifle in), so the NF NXS 8-32x56 MOAR would be what I would go with.

I recommend Zeiss Conquest in 6.5x20x50 or 4.5x14x50 or Steiner Predator Extreme 3x12x56. all can be had for less than $750 if you look around

Don't count out the Bushnell elite scopes either. I've got 5 of them in various flavors on my rifles. Accurate, repeatable, bright. I don't play with gadgets or recticles in the field so I don't care about extra features that I'll just pay for and not use. My 7stw wears a 8-32x40 elite 4200.

A lot depends on your budget and what you intend to use it for the most. I'm very partial to zeiss vortex and premier. However I actually got to see some huskama's recently at a trade show and was super impressed. I love the 12 minitues of wind in the reticle. And they are releasing a 4-16 in January. I find that to be the perfect balance for what I do mostly hunting. And I believe having owned nightforce that the glass is very similar or better. For a bit more though premier blows them all away. Vortex offers extreme value for the money. As does huskama I believe now. Seriously considering upgrading to the new 4-16 and sending them my gun to get them to collect the data for my turrets.

I'd say the first question is realistically what ranges are you going to be shooting and what are you going to be shooting at?
You can easily get to 1000yds with 14x magnification on deer or larger sized game. 20x is nicer on smaller stuff or if you also want to be able to judge racks etc through the scope so you don't have to also pack along a spotting scope or bino's. I always recommend going with the 50mm or larger objectives because they really do extend your shooting times during those critical moments early and late or in dim, cloudy weather.
I have Leupold Mark IV and VXII's on my STW's and they have served me even on bobcats and coyotes at that range with 20x max magnification and 50mm objectives.
If budget is a consideration look at the Vortex Viper PST's in the 4-16x50 or 6-20x50 or the Zeiss Conquests.
If budget and size/weight are not an issue then USO or Nightforce, or IOR Tactical long range models.

I have Vortex Viper PST 6-24x50 FFP EBR-1 MOA Reticle Scopes on my twin Remington 700 Sendero SF 7mm STWs and I absolutely love them for the money I spent on them.
