I have 2 withered 4 1/2 goats for sale. Oberhasli/Alpine mix, bottled fed, trained for the trail and ready to go hunting. They come with pads, packs and panniers. 500.00 for the set up. I am in the McCall area. SAM_0281.jpg

Is this a real common method put where your at? Educate a southern guy!
Is this same as mules but with less headache? JUst wondering as I never knew of this!

Beautiful critters though

I've used goats before. They're not common but they should be. They're inexpensive to buy and keep, require very little training, don't need much water, eat anything, you don't need to lead them because they follow you, can go anywhere you can go, any kind of trailer will work to haul them, tack is less expensive, settle game down if you bump them and a goat wreck is a good story instead of a trip to the hospital. They'll haul about 40 lbs on the trail (a little less packing meat out of the steeps) depending upon breed and size. A rodeo caused by a scary thing ends with all of them standing right next to you instead of 8 miles down the trail. They require almost no maintenance/vetting except maybe trimming their feet once a year. When they die you can turn them into sausage.

As noted in PM & email...I'm very interested; hope to hear from you soon.

Not to hijack this thread, but I had no idea this even existed! Mind=blown! Hunting goats??? Good luck with the sale!

So would I if I could get a reply...any one else have any luck? I only live a few hours away.

Try to "Private Message" him. I think those go directly to his e-mail.

Thx. Sadly I have PM'd him & also emailed him directly...no response yet. Kind of a shame... as I'm really interested in moving forward.
