I like em. I got one a couple weeks ago and have to say I have used it more times in two weeks than I have used my oheler this year.

You have to add some spacers to get the bullet/sensor clearance correct, but it is easy.



Strap it on and you are ready to shoot.



It cuts on automatically when you plug it in and is ready to go. The shot string shown there was a rifle I had just cleaned so the ES was pretty wide.



pretty neat deal and way more convienent for the everyday type stuff, but if I could only have one I would keep the oheler.
 
I ordered one about a week ago. I'm anxious to see how it works. It looks a lot more convenient then the Ohler, or even the Suoerchrono acoustic. I think we are in desperate need of better chronograph technology. Not much has been done in this area until recently.
 
Grey makes a great point & I fully agree.


I have had a MagnetoSpeed for several months. This thing kick butt, no issues on any rifle I've used it on. There was some discussion on whether or not it would work with monometal bullets. I can assure you that it does, from Barnes to Cutting Edge, not a hiccup.

I have not. I would be interested to see the results but I canno make myself drag to real chronograph out to do the comparison.
 
I really like mine. I read where some people have overtightened the strap and broke the bracket.I put mine on snug and check it carefully between shots.
 
Gonna ask question and prob sound dumb, But how are these chrono's powered? Battery pack? 9 volt-6 volt? I apologize if it is a obvious answer. I just have not really looked at them or read a lot about them. Just thought I would ask.

Not sure which unit you are referring to? But in general many are powered by a 9V battery.

Thanks BROZ for reply. Meant all chronographs. I was thinking 9 volt minimum but wasn't sure. Thought I would ask anyway. Thanks again for reply.
 
Specific to the Magneto Speed this is copied from the instructions.

"The MagnetoSpeed display unit uses four AAA batteries. The battery
life is typically over 100 hours with the backlight OFF and over 30 hours
with the backlight ON. When you need to replace the batteries, simply
unscrew the two screws from the back, swap out all"
 
They are flying off the shelves here at the LRH Store.
