Wanting to add a second stud for a bipod and need some guidance

I have a B&C Alaskan Ti stock for my new build, and I would like to add a second sling stud to it for a bipod. I wan't it to be rock solid, so should I use one of the Harris mounts for this (if so, which one), or should I just use a standard sling stud. I just don't want it to have an option of stripping and pulling out while a bipod is attached to it.

How about just using one of the machine thread studs with the nut countersunk on the inside. The stock would break before that stripped out.

That sounds like a good idea, if you consider that is pretty much what the Harris mounts are. I think I will probably go that route.

Silly question if I may ask....

My Harris attaches to my factory installed sling stud, and then has its own stud on it for me to attach my sling. Knowing that, what is the benefit of having and using two studs on the stock vs. using the one built into the Harris?

The way I understand, is that the addition of a second stud allows you to place your bipod at a better balance point on your stock, by setting the second stud farther back. Also not all bipods have a built in stud, which in case you would need two.

The type of sling set up also effects choice.A safari sling is better on sepperate stud.Rail mounts usually 2 stud.
