Skip the 210. Look at the 215 and 230.

I worked up to 94 grains of Retumbo in mine, berger has 92 listed as max on the info they sent me. Seated at 3.6 to fit in mag box. Just over 3100 fps.

Old favorite load: 210 VLD, 84.1 gr of IMR 7828, 215M primer, Nosler case @ 3350 fps from a 30" SM Shilen - shoots sub .250 MOA all day....

I have since switched to the 230 Hybrid for more down range energy and better BC....

I'm running 91gr retumbo with the 210vld, and I'm getting about 3100fps with consistant sub .25 moa groups. The tube is a 30" Pacnor/straight taper to 1" diameter at the muzzle.

Rem 700 with 27" Lilja barrel. Berger 210VLD~Getting 3120fps with 89.5 grains of H1000 and less than 10fps ES, Fed 215GM, Nosler Custom brass and will shoot between .25 and .5 moa. I think there's room for more velocity but don't want to lose this accuracy. Killed elk from 150 yards to over a 1,000 yards with this combo, they died within 10 yards of where they were shot. In a RUM, I would SERIOUSLY consider working up a load with the 215 Hybrid. I am in the process right now but have not found the accuracy I'm looking for yet. I have found that I can run the 215 faster than the 210 with the same pressure levels. 3150fps is not a problem. The 215 with a .696 B/C at 3150fps will outperform (in all categories) the 210 VLD and even the 230 Hybrid Target in the same firearm. Yes run the numbers, been there done that. Just hoping I can get these inside .5moa in my gun keeping them around 3150fps. Hope this helps you.

McWhorter Custom with 26" ABS Carbon barrel. 90.5 gr.'s of Retumbo, Remington case, Fed. 215M primer, 3.630 OAL. It runs about 3050 fps and groups hover between .300 to .350.

The 210VLD load is 3.775" just touching the rifling. The 215 Hybrid load that I've just settled on is 3.880" which gives me .005" jump. These babies are long!

As you requested brother!

First it would be helpful if you told us what you consider "Long Range".

26" barrel (sporter contour) and many different loads. Mine is a true "Hunting Rifle" that rides in a scabbard and over my shoulder or held while hunting. Most accurate at max velocity was 3240fps holding right at .700 in mine. Check your ballistics chart as I could only get 3320 with a 190 without going too hot. The only gain was about 100lbs of energy at 1000 yards with much more arc to the bullet path.

I am brand new to the 1000 yard shooting so I don't have years of experience. I have shot a lot in the 4-600 range....just today was the first time at a measured 1000 with measured groups.

What are you specifically looking for? Every rifle is different, but you should get 3100 easy with 3200 towards the top.

H50BMG was the fastest and most accurate in my rifle.

210 vld's 93.1gr retumbo, fed gold match primers, just nudgin' the lands, out of the box sps, avg. .72"@100, and 6.3"@600yds. pretty happy with it so far!
