Was wondering if anyone has the seekins precision wsm bottom metal and if you do what do you think about it? Does it feed well? Does anyone have any pics of this on there rifle. Any feed back would be welcome. I want to build a 7wsm but with a detachable mag so if not seekins what else?

I have never shot the Seekins bottom metal. I know guys who have it a love it. The big advantage would bet to be able to seat your bullets further out. If your reamer is not set up for seating you bullets out further, then you lose the whole reason your getting there bottom metal.

I have the Badger bottom metal on my wsm, and it works great. I am doing a few new wsm's and going to use APA rifles bottom metal. I really like how they have the mag release built into the trigger guard, and you cant beat the price.

I actually intended to use that DBM on my 6.5wsm & was talked out of it. I've been told they had some issues with the mags (LA IIRC) a while back, I don't know whether they were fixed or not. Seekins products are usually of good quality so I would have a hard time believing they haven't at least looked into it.

For the OAL needed they're about the only DBM in town, the APA (while having a substantially better mag release) is still built on the Badger M5 footprint running the AI mags. While of substantial quality, the ~2.8 OAL is WAY too small to house th 3.100 rounds out of my 6.5WSM.

Back to the drawing boards... stay tuned, fun (read expensive) idea in the works.:D

I have 2 different rigs using Seekins Systems. 338 RUM and 338 Edge. I have had them about a year with NO issues whatsoever. These are of course not WSM mags but I have nothing but good to say about them. If there were issues at one time I have not seen them. I am building a 7WSM in the spring and the Seekins is what I will use.

Shumba,

That's good to hear, as I previously stated; Seekins makes a solid product. I'm glad to hear the issue had been addressed. :)

PS- They also have a much better mag release than the "norm" with their button style release. (that goofy tab sticking out just makes me shake my head :D)
