You have to love the6.5 cal. ihave 3 6.5x55 sweed mausers a ruger m77 6.5x55 and just built a 6.5x55 0n a fn mauser action it shoots 3 in groups at 500 meeters but my loooong range rig is the 6.5x284 like you i love the long shots .Here in so AZ most of our shots are over 300 yards so you need to be able to reach out and flop them at long range. and for the 300 rum last year i shot an elk at 580 yards with the, 210 berger vlds . the coues wt tail deer here are tough to get close to and the mtns are steep and rough so shootiing is the easy part getting your deer of the mtns is the hard part. shoot straight and long and its all good.
