I plan on picking up a 338wm for my new elk gun. I'll be going off the shelf though, nothing custom. There's a reason 338 win mag is called the elk caliber... from wikipedia: "Due to its popularity with elk hunters and its effectiveness as an elk cartridge it is known as the "King of the Elk Cartridges""

why is this in the classifieds?

What's for sale?

.338 Win Mag is a great short to mid-range elk round. A .340 Weatherby is better at those ranges & further. The Ultra & Lapua mags take heavy guns but can handle even more range but are brutal in light rifles.

Save your money. Just buy a Savage 116 with accu trigger, and accu stock. I love mine. It's my Alaska rifle. I mounted a Huskemaw on it and love it.
