A buddy of mine says he has too many does on his ranch and says I am welcome to come help him thin the herd in late December. I was up there this weekend and found what I think will be an interesting set-up. I pulled a Google Satellite photo and looked at distances.......looks like a 500-600 yard shot is likely. The shooting position will be on a ridge overlooking a food plot in the valley below. I can drive right to the shooting position, set up the shooting bench and sit in my truck until the deer enter the field!

I'll need to wait for a day with very light wind, but, since I can be at the ranch in about 25 minutes, and will have 10 days of bonus doe season, I think I can find the right conditions. Now, I just need to practice for the shot.......might hang some steel in the food plot and do some trial shots!

sounds great! setting up steel right in the target area will allow you to really learn the winds at that exact location and really make that shot when the time comes. good luck!

buzzgun,

How come I noticed there are no lat/long coordinates associated with the pic, huh?

Beats me? I had to have my wife copy the photo from Google because they make it very difficult to copy a satellite image. I'll tell you this, the ranch is located in Osage County Oklahoma. Does that help!:D
