We really like the TPS rings and bases. The big problem we have had with them was getting them. I have had some on order for 6 weeks now and they still dont have them in. Im still waiting on my gun to be built so I have some time. I hope I dont have to cancel my order and go with some others.

I have used their rings for years. Not their base. I carry the rings here in the LRH Gear Shop.

Your scope tube is aluminum, so you should use aluminum rings. The base really does not matter as long as it is a quality aluminum or steel.

How did you come to this conclusion? Not trying to argue but if you are referring to the assertion that the scope and rings should be of the same material due to differing expansion-contraction rates for steel and aluminum, that argument has pretty much been proven wong. For the original poster, i have had good experience with TPS rings, but the only time I tried to use one of their bases, I got a bad one. It was a 20moa base and had a severe bow in the base, nowhere near straight.

No, not Chinese.I presume you meant wrong. I prefer Aluminum rings due to the problems associated with dissimilar metals. ESPECIALLY when the AL is anodized (chemical corrosion process) and the steel is blued (chemical rust corrosion process). Add a little humidity and you will get corrosion. I saw it first hand in Dallas many years ago. Ever since, I have only used aluminum rings. Normal humidity in most parts of the country can lead to issues. Unless you don't mind little corrosion dimples on your $1000 scope, use aluminum rings.
I know, now someone will post that they never heard of this or that they have used steel rings since 1945, blah, blah blah.

Sorry about that, no not Chinese just failure to spellcheck. That is very interesting, I have never heard this. Have you ever seen this with steel rings that have been lapped and most if not all of the inside coating of the rings removed?
I have just used some TPS aluminium rings on my latest 375cheytac build....
again i can concur, looks to be a solid product to me... CNC machined to very tight tolerances nice finish and were an excellent fit. Great value for money IMHO.
