Little bit of 300 grain Berger results

Oh man...this could be a big setback. Perhaps my large groups were because of this nose slump? Other people shot much smaller groups, and I didn't think the mirage was SO bad I was shooting over a 4" area.

I will attempt to shoot these on paper or steel vs the SMK's I have loaded up already for a head to head comparison.

Reducing the velocity is not what I planned on doing with this rig.

Either way, pics and results should come before long.

This is not exactly the results I was looking for.

I have a brand spanking new 338 Lapua Improved with a Lilja barrel that are known to have tight bores. Both are items the new Berger 300 does not like.

Anyone want to buy a brand new 250ct box of Berger 300's???

I would be very interested in hearing how far off the lands you get tight groups, for those working up rounds with the 300 Bergers. I have heard everything from .015 into the lands to .080 off the lands. In digging at the Berger site their general position is .030-.040 off the lands, but have seen nothing specific at their site on the 300's.
Thanks in advance.

Just found this:
The revised BC's for the 300 grain .338 Hybrid are:
G7 BC = 0.419
G1 BC = 0.818

They are not picky as far as I can see. I tried several seating depths fom .060 off the lands to .015" off the lands. Differences in accuracy was minimal. But the .015" OL showed me a very low ES and 20 fps more velocity and this is what I am using. The bullets in my rifle are consistantly holding 1/2 moa to 1400 yards.

how was the wind?

how was the wind?

I have been working hard to establish dial ups at all distances using Bryans new Bc's. For this I have avoided wind. I am confident now I have the ups and will work to find what is needed in the wind.

This was shot last night Cold bore one shot. No wind at all at the rifle or target. No correction was made to the windage turret at all "0" Circle is 7"

I then redialed and shot 3 into 4" at 995 yards on a different target.

Sorry, I have no wind data but the accuracy has me very pleased.
