338 Edge barrel

A friend of mine ordered a Hart 30" 10 twist and had it in like 5-6 weeks. I was astounded when it showed up early. His is for an Edge project though he doesn't have it done yet.

Mine has a Krieger 1:10 twist, 28" barrel.

My velocity avg is just above 2800 fps with the 300g SMK, H-1000 (92g).

Mines got a 28" Fluted Mike Rock 1:9.3 twist. 92gr. of H1000 behind a 300SMK.

I would give BRUX barrel a try. I have 2 of their barrels. Last one I ordered was a 338 cal, and got it in 2 weeks.

Not really sure but I'll let you know later this summer.

What I'd like to know is if anyone has had any luck setting the barrel back before actually replacing one. I have quite a bit of room.

Nonya, my Edge barrel is a Lilja and it shoots very well.

And, as he states there....it certainly depends on how you shoot it (consecutive shoots before cool down, etc).

I went with a 28" HART stainless/fluted, 1-10", 1 size under the sendero contour.

Using 92g of H1000/CCI250 w/300g SMK gives me 2840fps and 1/2-1 MOA to 1000 yards.

Last 3 shot group at 800 yards was 5" laying prone w/bipod.

I expect to see at least 1200 rounds of barrel life.

My 300 RUM went about 1200 and I think the 338 bore should allow a bit more life, especially since my velocity is only 2840fps, while my 300 RUM I was pushing 3100-3200fps with 200' and 210's.

I've got about 120 rounds down the 338 EDGE so far.

Have you tryed the fed215 primers with this load?
