Why are we sending ammo to Ukraine?

Because the Azov BN is so much better right?
I would say better but by how much, I don't know. If you compare human rights violations, I believe the separatists have more. The estimate of their numbers range from 1,000 to 10,000. The Ukrainian military has about 200,000 people so Azov makes up at most 5% so they don't wield the same power that the separatists do. Also, not everyone who joined Azov is a neo-nazi. Neo nazis played a large role in the beginning but over time has been reduced because many of its members don't have neo nazi views. There are even some Jews in the Azov.

Amnesty International and the crisis group to name a couple.

Not sure who exactly is drinking the kool aid. If you do any research at all on Azov, you will see they are described as a far right neo nazi organization.

Did that occur before or after 2014 when the separatists decided to take over the region by force? As I recall with our own civil war, I don't believe the southern states that were trying to secede were represented in congress.

Also, the separatists are no angels and the Ukrainian government is certainly no worse than they are. The separatists have adopted the constitution that was adopted by Stalin. They have been described as having evolved into totalitarian, North Korea-like statelets.

Amnesty International is an absolute dumpster fire of a source. I have personally seen their bias on display during my time in the Balkans. Not to mention they are riddled with FIEs.

Far right and Nazi are two words that do not belong in the same sentence. NAZI is actually an acronym. Nationalsozialistische Deutsche Arbeiterpartei to be exact. Translated to English it means National Socialist German Workers party. How many far right organizations have socialist anywhere in their name or party stance?

As far as the Azov battalion and other interesting Ukrainian entities, the term Ethnic Extremest Group (EEG) would be a bit more accurate, and play less into certain IO narratives. EEG was used to describe similar entities in the Balkans. Or EG would work as well. Them claiming to be Nazis is about as ridiculous as Frankie Faison's character in the 1996 film Mother Night claiming to be the "Black Führer of Harlem". After all didn't the actual Nazi's consider Russians and Ukrainians to be untermench?

Regardless of all that, this is a conflict we should not be supporting and a result of really, really, really bad decisions made by both the Ukrainians and our government in the 90s. And if Brandon, the EU, and NATO had done a better job this would not be happening.

Well if that is the case about Amnesty International then I guess Azov are a bunch of angels then because AI reported on them as well. Do a little research on the founder of Azov, Andriy Biletsky. Also, just because the word socialist is in the name does not mean they are socialists. There was nothing socialist about Hitler or anything the nazi's did. The simple fact is that most if not all white supremacists fall right of center. The right has white supremacists and the left has antifa.

I am not sure what anyone could have done to prevent this other than drop out of Nato and kiss Putin square on the backside and just let him have the Ukraine and any other former eastern block country or any country for that matter that he wants. We did serve him up Siria quite nicely. I guess we should have done that with the Ukraine.

Calm down, nobody is saying the Azov battalion is a bunch of angels. Andriy Biletsky, Arsen Avakov, Olena Semenyaka, and one of their martyrs Dominique Venner have some unusual poilitical ideologies and so does Alexandr Dugin. But that still does not detract from the fact that amnesty international is a biased stinking pile of hot garbage.

There was plenty shared ideology between socialism and Nazism. Take massive all powerful government for starters. As a matter of fact many of the communists in Germany later joined, and probably fit right in with, the Nazi Party.

There is plenty that could have been done to deter Putin's invasion besides kissing his fourth point of contact. But if you insist on doing that be my guest. For one, Brandon could have done whatever was done from 2017-2020. I don't seem to remember Putin invading anyone during that time and he did not have any more or less capability. Or for two, try doing whatever Reagan did to deter the Soviet Union during the Cold War, Brandon was in the senate during that time so he should have at least observed what right looks like. For three, they (EU, NATO, US) could have antagonized Putin/Russia a bit less over the last few decades, maybe try integrating Russia into the EU and trade more with them. And finally Brandon could stop coming off like a weak senile bumbling idiot all of the time, Putin and those like him are deterred by strength and competence, not stupidity.

Thanks to Brandon's gross incompetence and mishandling of this situation we now face the worst possible scenario, a Sino-Russian alliance. How will we fare now when the CHICOMs make their move against Taiwan and have Putin backing them?

No one is upset. You can't say they are biased when they are reporting atrocities on both sides so it only goes to reason that if they are wrong about one side then they are wrong about both and therefore neither are committing atrocities and are not nearly as bad as people are saying.

2017-2020 was polar opposite of what Reagan did. Back in those days, republicans didn't like communists. Reagan would never have saluted a North Korean general. Reagan outspent them on our military, identified them as our enemy, and showed strength and supported nato. 2017-2020 was kiss the royal backside of Putin by praising him and taking his word over our own intelligence community, having undocumented meetings with him, and threatening to weaken and even pull out of nato. Its been said the only reason Putin did not invade was because he was expecting the US to pull out of nato completely when Trump won a 2nd term basically giving Putin carte blanche over Europe kind of like Siria. Trump would never have stopped Putin from invading the Ukraine. For one, Trump is too vindictive and would have let Putin have it because the Ukraine did not support him when he tried to get them to announce an investigation into Hunter Biden right before the election and the majority if not all of his base would support him.

If Putin isn't regretting this move, he should be. His military looks weak. He should have been able to take the Ukraine in a few days. It shows that the Russian military has not changed and is out of date and does not have technical superiority. Its the old, throw men at them until they run out of bullets and then overrun them mentality. The only reason he is a threat is because he has nukes.

I guess with Taiwan we do what Trump would do which would be to demonize the Taiwanese and let China roll over them with the complete support of his base.

Wrong as always

I have seen Amnesty International's bias in the past.

Trump forced the NATO countries to honor their commitments regarding defense spending. Increased funding does not weaken military capability.

What is wrong with Trump extending an olive branch to Putin?

Would he have actually pulled us out of NATO? Or did he use that threat as a bargaining chip to get what he wanted from them?

Did TRUMP render or return a salute from a North Korean General? There is a difference.

You may want to read the DOD policy updates that occurred during Trump's administration. They are heavily focused on defeating peer/near peer threats, only two countries meet that qualification. Can you guess who they are?

Do you actually think that Putin was trying to take the entire Ukraine??? Even a layperson could look at the depth of arrayed Russian forces see that it was insufficient to occupy all of Ukraine. Do you even know what Putin's objectives are??? If so I'd like to hear them since he has not definitively stated them.

The Russian military does not suffer so much from a lack of "technical superiority" as much as it does bad logistics during offensive operations. They have many capable A2AD systems.

Regarding your last statement on Taiwan, I have no doubt that Brandon would let the CHICOMs seize Taiwan, with the complete support of his base.

Like I said, I guess Azov is a bunch of angels because you can't believe anything anyone has said about them.

Putin certainly thought what Trump did to nato was great and supported it wholeheartedly.

Presidents don't salute.

Kissing up to someone is an olive branch? That may work in business to manipulate people but its does not seem appropriate when dealing with international relations especially when its an adversary.

The Russians attacked the capital of the Ukraine and tried to assassinate the president. Maybe its just me but it sounds like they are trying to overthrow the government.

There is no basis for you statement about Taiwan where as my statement is based on recent history.

If you want to call them the "Azov Angels" have at it.

I can't imagine Putin wanting NATO countries to increase defense spending.

Is extending an olive branch really "kissing up to someone"? How so?

Have a look on the googles and you'll see plenty of presidents saluting. They are NOT REQUIRED to render a salute. They do have the option of returning one if they desire. They certainly aren't required to bow like bathhouse Barry did

We attacked Libya in the 80s and tried to decapitate C2 nodes, without occupying the country.

There is plenty of basis for my statement on Brandon and the CCP. Look at their past interactions and those of previous Dem & NeoCon administrations regarding the CCP.

You still have not answered my question about Putin's objectives.

Putin did not want NATO countries to increase defense spending. Not only has this invasion caused that but it has caused several countries to consider joining NATO. His invasion is backfiring on him in a major way.

When was the last time a president saluted a general of a nation that is considered our enemy? Ironically, when the North Korean General saluted Putin, he did not salute back. The salute made for great tv in North Korea.

There is a difference between extending an olive branch and kissing up to someone. Taking the word of someone that has been considered an enemy of this country and is well know not to be trusted over the US intelligence community is not extending an olive branch. Having undocumented meetings where no one knows what is being said is not extending an olive branch. If anything, Putin took it as a sign of weakness.

As for Putin's motives, its common knowledge that he would like to restore Russia back to its former self. Also, he does not want the Ukraine joining nato.

No Putin did not want NATO countries to increase their military funding, so it's probably a good thing that Trump insisted that NATO countries increase their defense spending IAW the treaty.

Regarding the saluting. The North Korean General initiated the salute first. Which indicates deference to Trump. The junior initiates the salute to the senior who then returns it. There have been many times where the officers of nations at war with each other salute. When the last time a sitting US president did it? No idea, that would be a lot of footage and various cables to go through. But I do remember when a US president bowed to another world leader. BTW Putin was not considered an "enemy" at that time, no declaration of war. I believe DOD used the term hostile actor if I'm not mistaken.

Pretty sure undocumented meetings occur frequently regardless of the president. Were all of bathhouse Barry's and Brandon's meetings documented?

Of course he wants to restore occupancy over the former Soviet states. But again what are his near term objectives in the Ukraine??

The only problem is that the NATO members had already agreed back in 2014 to spend 2% of their gdp on their military by 2024. Trump tried to push them to 4% but no one agreed.

So for other presidents saluting a general of a country that is considered an enemy, you don't know of any but you are sure they exist. As for bowing, Eisenhower bowed to De Gaulle as well as the pope and numerous others, Nixon bowed to Hirohito, Clinton bowed to Akihito, and George W Bush held hands with Saudi Crown Prince Abdullah and bowed to the pope. Its actually encouraged to adapt to the customs of the people they are meeting with as a sign of respect.

When did Obama or any other president have an undocumented meeting without their own interpreter or note taker with an adversary?

Do you think its possible that his near term goals could have something to do with his long term goals?
