Are you Satisfied?

I'm mostly satisfied. Only things I really like to get my hands on are

  • Berger 215 Hybrid (I know get in line)
  • Berger 220 LRHT
  • Berger 230 Hybrid
  • 5# jug of N570
I saw some 230 hybrids a week ago at one place here. I see them or any of the others I will get them for you. I have 2 boxes of 215's I'm keeping now. Picked up some Berger 210. Sold box I had. Also picked up box of 212 ELDX and box of Nosler LRAB. $84 each. Ouch ! Berger 210 was $74. Powder at that place was great price. Retumbo was $42. $54 at rip off place by me. A lot of powders in $30 range.

Plenty powder and ammo at shops lots of H4350, Varget, H4831, Retumbo. Saw H4350 , Varget and Retumbo at another place also. I bought 2 pds. Retumbo. Have 22 lbs. now and plenty of all I use. Primers, I was already set for 2 lifetimes. Lots of brass. Slick Willy Clinton made me a prepper.
Wish my gunstore looked like that! Obama made me realize the need to prep. I bought primers, powder or bullets every time I was in a gunshop for the last 4 years. Wish we could have got 4 more years of reprieve from the Ds but no such luck.

Am I the only one that is not contributing to the Shortage? Am I the only one that has all I need on the shelf (not that much, but I am not planning for the apocalypse either) and not looking to getting any more till prices drop?
Over the years I just get what I need to keep a decent supply and dont respond to every little , "Hey, guys, I found this......" .
No your not the only one. I haven't purchased any ammunition in 2 years. Like you I have an ample supply to carry me through this self induced crisis.

I'm sitting this president out, just like I did the last two democrat administrations. I've been at this game long enough to have lived through a number of supply shortage and price gouging episodes and am fortunate to have 40+ different rifle powders (150+ pounds) and 20,000+ primers on hand and a steady Supply of hammers.

I have a number of shooting friends who are less fortunate and I take great pleasure in being able serve as their LGS. I met a guy at my club range last fall who was in a panic trying to develop a new load a week before his elk hunt because he couldn't find components for his pet load (N570 and 215 Bergers). I ran home quick and grabbed a pound of powder and a box of bullets. He wanted to pay me, but I told him he could replace them when he was able. It reminds me of a saying from my misspent youth that marijuanna will get you through times of no money better than money will get you through times of no marijuana. And my parents said that stuff would affect my brain.

I agree. We are just hurting our shooting and hunting buddies, as well as ourselves by hoarding. Doing so actually creates the shortages that we are complaining about, or at least makes them worse and last longer.
Buy what you need - not what others need. It's as simple as that. Put another way - don t be selfish.

I was at the sheep show and spoke to the Browning arms rep and I asked him about a rifle I was looking for. He said to just go ahead and order thru a retailer and the next time a model and batch were completed in the caliber I wanted, they would fulfill the order. And now two months later, I have my rifle. I wish they would do that with reloading components - the websites I go to always say not backorderable. I have been "sharing" my reloading components with friends, but after "loaning" 5 boxes of unobtainable ammo to a friend last year and never hearing from him again, I'm gonna stop giving stuff out.

How do you describe what you need and don't? I used to just buy primers by the 1k, powders at least a couple of pounds at a time to try out, a couple of boxes of bullets to try out. So when I go to the store and they'll only sell 200 primers at a time and two pounds of powder and a box of bullets what am I to do? I have to keep going back to get it before it's gone. I used to buy smaller quantities to try and see if stuff worked, now idk if I'll ever see it again when I find it, so I buy as much as I think I could need if it does work.

Not if they have any sense.

It's not going to blow unless it's under pressure, otherwise you just get a big flash.
It won't explode, but the intensity and extent of the fire will grow exponentially within seconds. It is absolutely an unexpected life threat to a Firefighter trying to put out your structure fire. If an interior crew were in that part of the house, they would suddenly be in an unexpected and very very bad situation. I'm a Firefighter. My fellow FF's know to not "go interior" on my house if the fire appears to be in the basement at all. It's a tricky and extraordinarily dangerous situation for us. And something that's not on most FF's radar, so to speak. If you happen to be on scene, please do inform the arriving FF's of what's in there. You could quite literally save the lives of those who are trying to help you. Don't mean to derail the thread, but it's a potentially catastrophic situation for us.

No kidding. I used to go to the LGS, and tell them I needed a certain powder and boxes of primers. They'd tell me it'd be on the next order, call me and I'd show up to a few pounds of powder and boxes of primers with my name on them. Now it's hard even trying to find the stuff you want.

Everyone's wants & needs are is their own prerogative…I buy when the price is right, want something specific and know I'm going to utilize whatever it is that I'm purchasing.

As an avid long range shooter/hunter and overall firearms enthusiast, letting inflation & or shortages stop us from enjoying what we love in this world is INSANITY! By not living our best life on our terms with the GRACE of GOD is otherwise known as DYING! We only LIVE once, why let outside influences such as a pandemic, political indifferences, etc keep us DOWN!!!

Live your BEST LIFE, regardless of what the STATUS QUO or what OTHER's are choosing to do or NOT DO!!!!!
Well said.

I've torched off a couple pds at a time years ago. It sure does with intensity . I could imagine let's say... 200 lbs.. ? Not good. Plus all the loaded ammo cooking off.
