About 4 weeks ago I got a PATRIOT 308 rifle and it looks great. I toped it with a Schmidt and Bender Police/Marksman 4-16x42MM PMII/LP and it has been a great scope. The turrets are very positive and the glass is what others should strive for. I have only shot the PATRIOT 3 time so I'm steel getting use to it but man it can shoot. A BIG THANKS to the guys at PATRIOT!!!!

Specs:
Rem 700 SA, Badger 30moa base, Badger AI bottom, Mike Rock 24" 5R, Patriot bolt handle, Patriot Brake, McMillan M40A1 stock w/ adjustable stock, Jewel trigger, Toped with Badger USMC rings, and an S&B 4-16x42mm /w the GENII XR.

That is a terrific looking rig and I hope it performs just as well. For what purpose will you use it?

I'm curious as to what you used to paint your barrel and action. Also, why not paint the bolt?

Thanks guys for the feeback.

I will be using it for tactical competitions. I'm not sure what they coated it with but they do not do the bolt because it is to thick and will not allow the bolt to operate.

The rifle shoots great. Here are some groups using Corbon 175gr SMK. Top left 1" dot at 100yds or 109m, top right 2" dot at 200yds or 218m first groups was on the low side so I gave it a 1/10mil adjustment and shot the top 3. The 2" dot was all I had left so I put one out at 300yds or 327m Shot at the dot then I shot a group by it self. The gun seemed to shoot better at 300yds than it does at 200yds, I'm not sure way.

Mr Joplin is said to be a hell of a gun plumber and that rig proves it.
Do you plan to hand load for that rig in your comp shoots? I reciently got my 308 finished and was supprised how well it shot the 168gr Fereradl GMM ammo , I was hoping to shoot 175's but the 168FGGM was surely impressive , maybe worth a look if your not consistanly shooting past 800yds

I shot past 1k all the time so I shoot 175gr. Corbon shoots great for me so I really do not know if I really need to hand load but I'v tried some. The groups seem a little better I will post my results when I find a load the rifle likes.
