Length of comments.

I'm reading others taking this to mean you have a short attention span, LOL. I see frustration in many not getting to the point or being succinct in writing. Not necessarily the length of posts. If I have to re-read something multiple times to have any idea what the attempted point is or after reading I am thinking "wow, I don't get that 5 minutes of my life back" - not good!

I'd add that punctuation and grammar would be a good idea for some to revisit. Speaking or writing correctly shows respect to those who are receiving the information. ALL CAPS (TELLING) and exclamation points!!! are to emphasize a point not for general consumption - unless you are a drill sergeant that is.
Not a bad idea....I haven't seen my Grammar for awhile now...I think I will go back and revisit her Today! .......but seriously this isn't English class, folks shouldn't have to worry about Grammar....she will be in good hands!

I can handle good lengthy posts. What gets me the most (I mean, I don't lose sleep over it ) is when people obviously don't read through a thread before posting and you see 10-12 people posting the same or similar response.
I know I've been guilty of this a time or two! But sometimes I'm seeing these questions for the first time.....and there are 14 pages of comments already posted. I want to help too ( or make my smart arse comment) but who has the time to read it all. Just me! So when it happens...accept my apology now.

Oh I know we are on internet forums because we just don't have time... 😄

Technical writing needs to be succinct.
However, a lot of the milk and honey to be found on this forum is in the shared experiences and folksy wisdom.
One hunter could write, "scouted a 6x7 beast all summer, shot him at sundown, found him hours later," as if they were sending a telegram where you pay for each letter. Or could tell the story, as some have shared here.
Perhaps you got lost reading some of the replies in the copper bullet thread?
Almost forty years ago, I had the honor of working on a DoE project with an octegenarian consultant named Ray Moser. In the lab where we had our test system, there was an aiming servo for the big deck guns on the old battleships. It excited him, as he was on the team that designed them. It took him a half day to expound on the engineering problems that they tackled and solved, complete with missteps they encountered. I learned a lot in his volumes of talk.
