Hi,
Who makes a bolt action rifle that you can buy a 10 shot detachable box magazine in 308?
I can't find any in the 2008 Remington catalog.
Thanks for the replys.

hi, you can fit a badger ordnance kit to remy 700 sa/la otherwise the sako trg22 has a 10 rd mag or maybe try the blaser tactical or accuracy international. I use the badger kit with 5 and 10 rd mags and think it is superb.

Plan on missing a bit.

Thanks to all who have replied.
Some more info so you can help me more. The main use for this rifle is for shooting pigs. Pigs can be in mobs of 20 or more hence the need for a 10 shot magazine. Yes I do miss a bit don't plan too just happens. The farmers that own the land that I hunt want as many as possible shot.
I am looking for a hunting type rifle ie. Rem 700,Savage,Tikka that sort of thing.
At the moment I use a SMLE 303. It does the job but it only shoots 2 moa hence wanting to upgrade to a 308.With the 308 I am hoping to get moa or better.Than I can start to look towards long range shooting. Pre 1996 one could use a semi auto for pig shooting but they are now banned.
A blaser is very expensive in Australia. A Sako trg is as bad. I am not aware of a Accuracy International in Australia.

Get a Remington short action of your choice, or one of the CNC 'clones' from Stiller, etc. and then get an AICS stock... they come w/ the AI mag system built in. AI mags are a bit cheaper than HS Precision, and **** near bullet proof. AI's importer (Tac Pro) seems to have problems getting mags into the country to keep up w/ demand, so a place in Conneticut started making clone mags. Good enough they are hard to tell apart, and the price is still reasonable ($75-80). I've got one original AI 5-rd mag, a clone 5rd and two clone 10rd mags... all feed and function just fine.

Why limit yourself to bolt action?

Since you're asking about who makes rifles that can accomodate a 10-rd magazine, I presume you haven't bought the rife yet. If pigs sometimes appear in groups of 20 and you want plenty of firepower in .308 Win, why not consider an AR-10. You can put a 10 round magazine in it, followup shots are as fast as you can aim and squeeze the trigger, and there are some very accurate models out there.

I'm nNot trying to talk you out of a bolt-action. If that's what you want, fine. Just trying to give you something to think about.

Hi Natty Bumpo,
Thank you for the reply. Semi auto's have been banned in Australia since 1996.
I would love a AR 10 but I can't have one.

hjl,
cabela's sells a 5 shot and 10 shot kwick-clip. for rem,700 sa,la, you just need to change your bottom metal. they work great, and are built to last. they are single stack not staggered,308 Nate used a5 shot in my 300 win-mag build and i'm very pleased with it. i sent you a pm about that burris scope you are wanting to buy! remington's 700 Varmint, are fine shooters indeed, but iv'e never heard a bad word about tikka's varmint. good luck on your project! regards jjmp

PGWDTI Coyote is a .308 with a 10 shot mag. The mags are Accuracy International.
