What type of tool do I need to take apart my Rem. 700 bolt for cleaning and where can I buy one, also what type of grease and how will it do when the temperature is in the low 30's to 20's?

I'm hoping for some helpful advice:
Has anybody any experience with both the Wheeler FAT and Weaver torque wrenches?
I am hoping not to have to spend $200 for a Tochnichi wrench.....

Anybody want to share helpful info?

Thanks,
terjeness

terjeness,

I bought a Weaver and sent it back immediately. It was set at 65 inch pounds at the factory and was so bound up, I couldn't move the dial.

I then bought Wheeler Fat Wrench and it's been perfect.

First of all: thank you for a great, no-nonsense article!
It would make it easier for me to purchase anti-seize compound and extra slick cam grease, if I knew a name brand or two to ask for. Any suggestions?
Expectantly,

terjeness

I can remember, (as well can my brothers) it was darn near a whipping by our father if a gun was put away dirty. Some people, ( I feel) think that today's weapons don't need cleaning as often. Sad mistake. Thanks for the article.

Just read your artical brought back some great memories of cold wet days sitting in front of a fire after a day shooting cleaning our guns, Was always told first thing after a shoot was to look after your gun still do it and have my kids doing the same thing.

I bought the Permatex anti-seize lubricant, and Power-Fist lithium grease. It works very well, but wish it had come in tiny tubes..... I now have enough for a lifetime.
