Tikka ctr

I bought a Tikka t3x ctr stainless steel with the 24" barrel in 6.5 cm. Put on a little bastard brake, harris bipod and a cheap vortex 4-16 hslr scope I've had laying around. Bought a box of 129 gr nosler able and a box of 147 eldm's. Did an ocw test with both at mag length, not sure how far jump they are. Loaded them with rl16, hornady brass and fed 215 primers since I have 1k of them and can't find any primers anywhere. The noslers shot around 1moa at 200 yards which I wasn't super surprised by and the eldm's were right of the bat 1/2 moa on all charge weights basically. I had one group that went .367 moa. So I chose a node I thought would be good and loaded up 25 at 41.8 gr. (2720fps) Took it out and zeroed it and then shot this 5 shot group at 713 yards this morning. This group is right at .48 moa. It was even slightly breezy and the mirage was picking up. Needless to say I'm very happy with the performance of this factory rifle! I really feel tikka got this one right I can't wait to go shoot a deer with it.
Looks like a hell of a shooter! Impressive 👍

Very nice shooting, sir!
And looks like the 147's put the "quieetus geetus hurtus" on that steel plate at 700yds.!
Congrats on the new stick. Kill em all........let God sort em out.

Great to hear the CTR shoots so well! I've been eyeballing a 7mm-08 CTR with a 20" barrel. I want it to pull double duty. As a range gun. But also for hunting (deer, pronghorn, possibly elk). Did you by chance weigh the rifle without accessories? I'd be curious to know if Tikka's stated rifle weight is accurate. Enjoy the new rifle. Thanks.

I haven't weighed the bare rifle but it's definitely huntable

I have been looking at getting the CTR in 6.5. What are the pros and cons of the 20" barrel?

A CTR is a version of the T3X. Just like the lite, superlite, Tac, etc are versions of it.

Differences are barrel length, profile, stock, and mags.

The CTR has it's own mags - not AICS or the ones used in the lite/superlite
Thanks. Is the CTR the best for long range shooting? I like it because it has the threaded barrel. Any other benefits?
