Why is there not much talk about Weatherby Rifles?

My two kids shoot Weatherby's one has a .340 that has shot almost every head of American
big game including a grand slam on sheep. The other has a Vanguard in .300 W'by. Every
thing about is good it's accurate enough for all hunting about a minute all day long. The
trigger is plenty good enough. He hasn't done the extensive hunting that the other one has
but he has shot a lot of deer, a wolf, a few antelope and a duffle bag full of prairie dogs.

I have a 300 and 340, both in the black synthetic stock. Both routinely shoot factory ammo into 1/2" groups. I could never get excited with the beautiful wood stocks as a hunting tool....they'd end up scratched and scarred. An interesting aside, Ive hand loaded extensively for both rifles and could never match the velocity and accuracy of factory loads at the same time, even when using the same bullets and the factory load data Norma published long ago.... I've never faced that dilemma with dozens of rifles I loaded for. If others have had a similar problem, perhaps that is part of the explanation.

i personally have never fired one but i know there isnt ever much talk on here about them. Is it due to not a ton of aftermarket support (im assuming that never really looked) and we all like messing with rifles lol. Are they just not a well built rifle for the price? Not accurate? Just wondering.
What would you like to talk about? I own 3.. 257 MK5 RC, 300 MK5 RC and a 30-378 MK5 RC. All extremely accurate and capable. Actually my 257 is THE most accurate non custom I own. 5-shot string under 1/2" shooting 100 grain Barnes TTSX or either TSX... it really likes 100 grainers..

I personally love em. Note my User Id. I also have a vanguard HB .308 and a WBY Custom Shop .416WBY that both shoot sub MOA and I have a Sako Finnbear in .300Wby and my beloved .340 is a custom (lilja, sako trigger/extractor, HiTech brake, win 3 *** safety, Pac Research stock) that both shoot 1/2 moa with most anything you feed them and if someone that really can shoot was behind them, they both would probably be one holers. .340 was fired 9 times in Africa and 9 animals died with 7 DRT.

Not as accurate as many others at that price
Could be I suppose, but I have no complaints about my "Range Certified" Accumark Mark V in 338 Lapua. It seems to consistently shoot .5-.75 moa with Noslers factory loads or my handload. It may be capable of better groups but if I'm honest, I doubt my 69 year old eyes are up to it.

I have had the Weatherby AccuMark since around 1995. It's in 300 Weatherby, and has been my go to big game rifle ever since I've got it. I've had many other rifles since then but it's still my go to rifle when I'm shooting anything past 400 yards. It shoots half inch groups at 100 yards with 215 grain Berger bullets. Ammuniton is easy to find, and the rifle has never let me down. This is just my opinion, but I've had the Sendero, and I prefer the AccuMark over the Sendero as a hunting rifle, It's not as bulky feeling as what the Sendero is. If I had to sell all my rifles, this one would be the last to go.

I'm considering buying a used 30-378 Accumark from a LGS and re-barreling to 338-378 or 340 Wby to join my 300 Wby. I, without question, will be getting a 257 Wby, as well. I grew up with shotguns and muzzleloaders, so these hot magnums are a hoot now that I'm in Colorado.

Weatherbys are great guns. I work for the railroad so travel all over the place. I bought a new weathermark 257 for half price as it was a demo. They shoot well, and it gots a great trigger and stock, I also have 2 custom 340's and a 300 in a Montana rifle, I love wby guns and caliber!

I have two Weatherby Mark V Deluxe rifles in .257 and .300 Wby. I hand load for both using 100 and 180 gr Nosler Partitions as they are both 1-12" twist, and they are both MOA rifles. Haven't felt the need to be able to use the long for caliber bullets so popular these days as I'm a hunter not a sniper and limit my shots to about 400 yds. Both are Sauer made purchased in 1972 and are all I've felt I ever needed for all North American hunting. A fifty year love affair with never a thought of divorce!

There are plenty of us here who are Weatherby shooters. If you're interested, you just have to ask.
Shot my first Weatherby 300 out and now I have the second Weatherby 300 in Acumark.. I like the Mark V action just do not like their thin light barrels. I like the Sendero barrel. Light weight not for me. After using dual 72 scuba tanks for a couple of decades rifles feel light.
