Do you name your rifles?

I guess I'm a bit old to answer this question. Being a Vietnam Vet - Infantry 101st Airborne 67-68, I find naming my rifles a bit childish. Just me. It makes great reading with all the responses. I can see I'm well outnumbered and older than most. Great internet site, though.
I built a great shooting table from info on this site, several years ago. Thanks.

Not yet, but I plan to build a custom FN Mauser; walnut and blued steel with engraving. FNs are made in Belgium, so it will get a French/Belgique French girl's name engraved on the action.

My daughter and I were talking about one of my rifles this weekend, and she was confusing it with another one I own. I realized that I was always referring to them by one of the following
1. Manufacturer
2. Caliber
3. Cartridge

I thought I need to give them some real names.

How many of you give pet names to your rifles? Let's hear about "old Bertha" or whatever pet names you have!

Did you at least name the table? Something like, "Put that on the LRH table over there." Seems like the least you could do. ;)

My Bergara HMR 6.5 is named Lightning, my CA Ridgeline 300wsm is Thunder, my 450 bushmaster is Thumper, my TC 7RM is Thor.

A bunch of years ago my buddy that got me in the long range shooting nicknamed my 7MM the "SuperRuger". Since then I've been a firm believer in pet names for rifles. I have a 22-250 that I call "Bam-ba-Lam" from the llyrics of the song Black Betty, as she is all black. My nephews have named their 7MM's as well. One of them is "ashes to ashes", another is "Long Distance Relationship" or "LDR" in short and the other is "No Bad Habits", this particular rifle was a hand me down to my nephew from his grandfather. My nephew had to promise his grandfather that he wouldnt give the rifle no bad habits. I think it's kind of fun to name your rifles.

Remington 700 Long range 7mm rem mag. I call it " Master of Disaster"

Well, it has some history.
IDK if anyone mentioned already, but Natty Bumpo (deerslayer, pathfinder, et. al.)
Had a rifle called deerkiller.

Kind of on the nose as they say.

But swords and guns have been nicknamed for all time.

My 7mm short mag is named Lucrezia Borgia cause she is a blood sucking B!+@# ! My .300 Win Mags are known as Ma Bell the long distance operators. The .338 Lapua is known as Heartburn. My .308 is known as Oakley. My 6.5 creedmoore is known as F.N.G.
