I am looking for a Ruger 77, tang safety, long action (30-06) for a build. The stock is for a regular weight Ruger, not the ultra-light rifle. It could be either wood or synthetic stock. I have talked with someone on the forum who told me that they had a stock and would give me a good price on it, but cannot find the e-mail.

Oregon gun smith/stock maker does these...shoot can't remember his exact business name...maybe this will trigger someone with better memory? Oregunsmithing, Pendleton OR! Google will get you there from here. Wayne...

Hello adk hunter, I have a guy in Plains, Oregon, Dennis Olson, who does stocks for around $800 for a stock. Dennis just finished a couple of Ruger 77s for me (pillar bedding/rebarrel/reblue/glass bedding), the work that he did was phenomenal. His work stock work is supposed to be superior, perhaps $800 for a stock is probably a good price, but a little out of my budget. I just posted this ad today, perhaps I will find something on the forum. Thank you for the info. Raoul

Maybe that was who I was thinking...good luck!

I have a Ruger stock for the International model (Mannlicher style) that I bought several years ago for a project that never happened. How can I tell if it is for the tang safety style? It's for a long action 77 and in excellent condition. Let me know if you are interested.

Hello omega1, an International stock will not work for this build. I'm not certain about how to tell the difference between tang safety and the Hawkeye version of the stocks. I am restricted for movement right now, otherwise I would go to the safe and find out. Thank you for contacting me. Raoul
