220 ELD-X out of a 300 RUM

Looking for load data for the 220 eld-x bullets. I've seen a few post with the susgestion of using seria's 220 match data. Just wondering if any one has any real experience loading them. Also would like to load them mag length if possible.
Powders will be Retumbo and reloaders 33.

Have you considered the 212gr ELD-X? It has a higher BC and is lighter so it offers some better ballistics. If you are wanting to load to mag length though, you are probably better off with the 220s since they have a shorter OAL. Start with minimum Sierra 220gr Data and work up. I don't have personal experience with one, but I think you're on the right track. gun)

I am loading the 225 hpbt for my 300rum with rl33 in rp brass with a 215 lighting the fire... I'm at 95 gr rl33 to get 3000 fps... 3.650"oal. I may work with the 220eld-x at some time but my second 300rum is using the 200eld-x and retumbo...
The hornady bullets seem to be a bit stickier in the bore than berger 230's, so the 100 grains or so rl33 many are using on the 230 berger would be to much for the hornady 225 imo...

I don't have any experience with the 220, but I've been working with the 212 lately and found that they will jump just fine if you want to mag feed them. I have mine at .095 OTL and they fit and feed fine from a standard Wyatt's mag box at an OAL of 3.745.

I'm loading Retumbo in Nosler/Norma brass with a Fed 215M. My velocity is just short of 3100 fps in a 28" Krieger 5R.

The 220's do have a lot longer bearing surface than the 230's so I think even though they are lighter in grain weight they may only run at the same speed or even slower than the 230's for the same charge weight. But thanks for the load data.
