Any of you load for this caliber? Looking for some recipes.
That would be a great idea if...
I've been reloading on and off for 40 years but thanks for the reloading 101.
Again to anyone that is actually helpful, Just looking for information on this caliber with 220 ELD-X. I've spent most of my Rifle loading with 308 and 223 and this load is for a retired Marine scout sniper friend.
To say the 300 weatherby is only good to 500 yards is pretty laughable. With the Berger 215 with 81gr of h1000 with a 26" barrel I was running at 2900fps seated at mag length. I think you should be able to reach the same speeds with the 220 ELD-X. His is a thread of my elk I took down with my 300 weatherby at 1200 yards.

Also here is my kid hitting steel at 700.

Odd that you should say that.....
I just picked up a 700 Long Range in 300 Win, on a whim...
tested ONLY the 200 ELD-X..... and I went back, to yet again.... a pet charge weight.
a WLRM, 3.4.80 (.020 off engagement) 84 grains of Retumbo.... ragged hole at a 100m... 4831SC didn't have a very clean report or recoil, and H1000 opened up dramatically the minute I got towards the wall. At 75.2 grains it was 3/4 in, and by 76.5 she was at 2 inches.... no thanks.
I'll stick with Retumbo.... That will give an honest 3050-3100 fps in a 26 in barrel with a 200 Grainer..... you're not going to get much better with a Win or a Roy.
