Is the Rapid Z 800 or 1000 worth considering; I'm looking at the 4.5X14X50 AO MC.

Worth considering? Hell, they're worth buying. I have one and they are fantastic scopes. Extremely good resolution and clarity.
You should know that the RapidZ 1000 is specifically made for the 308 while the RapidZ 800 will fit more of the hunting calibers. Go to the Zeiss website and put your ballistics into the calcualtor and optimize the power and see how it works out.

I have Ziess Rapid Z 800 scopes and they are great. I wish the crosshairs were a little thinner but they're still awesome scopes.
