Youth Hunting - Part 1 - The Smiles & the Memories

Pic 1 here was my oldest son a few years back on thanksgiving morning. We always go up and hunt a my wife's grandfather's home place. All we do up there is fill the freezer. He didn't even realize the one he shot the head off of was a small buck until he rolled it over to gut it then took the liberty to look at its head !

Pic 2 is my two biological sons and their buddy that has hunted with us cause he didn't have someone to take him. It was youth day for squirrels and they had a wonderful morning.

A little off this exact topic but not really these kids are the reason that life is worth living . I absolutely love taking these young men out and sharing what the good lord has gave each and everyone of us to enjoy and share. This week is our early bear season and watching all these young adults and the smaller kids work with the hounds has been absolutely amazing.
I've got more pics to come

Pic 1 here is a buddy's son . We'd ran this bear about an hr with the hounds and it treed. He put an amazing shot on it . He was as proud as a peacock

Pic 2 here was the bear my son killed last early season . I'd found it's track on a well site and put those two dogs on it . They ran it about 3 miles and treed it

The 3 rd pic here is another buddy's son last early season also. We'd ran this one all over that morning and finally treed him in a big spruce thicket .

The kids love the excitement of the chase . It's addicting for the adults too . Hopefully we can continue to keep running dogs for as long as I'm alive

wv270wsm, I believe that your posts and comments here are absolutely on topic, and in fact, I'd say that the posts you have provided have 100% hit the nail on the head for what I was hoping for.

Great pics of great hunts with youth being "brought up in the way!"

Pic 1 here is my cousin's middle daughter . She's my bear hunting buddy for sure. This young lady absolutely loves to run her dogs. It's not the biggest bear about 115 lbs but it's the first one her young dog has made the entire chase to the tree. And it made her day . And that's all that matters

Pic 2 was the sky that same morning as I hit the old coal strip , the sky was mesmerizing. God is good

This young lady here has now grown into a beautiful young woman . She froze almost to death according to her on this snowy day setting in our late doe season. We sat for almost 3 hours that evening , she didn't want to give up till she got some fresh deer meat
Her mom and dad didn't hunt but encouraged her interest and after a few shooting and safety sessions with me she was able to get a deer. Her mom even went shooting with us the one time we went in the summer and enjoyed it just didn't think she'd like the " hunting" aspect. But thats fine too now she's somewhat educated about firearms and is comfortable with her daughter and son being around firearms.
