Most of us probably like hunting and fishing. I've got to tell y'all, spearfishing is the best of both worlds. My son says if we could only have one outdoor activity, spearfishing would be it. I have to say I agree. This will pertain mostly my warmer climate shooting brethren.
That's interesting and I've never done it but I do enjoy gigging flounder so I can understand the thought process

I would have to agree but that was a former life for me.

So I'd had an Achilles' tendon reattached, FYI, if at all possible, don't tear your Achilles loose from your heel.
I had just graduated from the knee scooter to being able to hobble in that boot contraption. But we still had to be in the deer woods. That evening, About halfway through the set, I came to the realization that if my son shot anything, we were gonna be in a predicament if we had to trail. So I told him, son, I can't trail tonight, if you shoot, it's got to be a bang flop. After careful management consideration, we picked the old doe without a fawn, and decided she'd be a good harvest. When he was Steady and ready, I gave one loud hand clap, and every deer in the field predictably came to attention. 238 yards. Bang flop. And yes, the little Hawkeye 308's reputation is growing.

Here we are at 7 years old. First buck. Yep, wearing shorts In January...
(south Mississippi weather!)
We dressed him and cooked the heart for supper. It's a tradition for a first buck. I'm sue I was more excited than he was.
