Hello,
Looking to glean some unbiased statistics in regards to what award you would favor to win. You don't need to be an archer to vote, just someone who appreciates competing for an award!

Vote and you can see results!

Thanks!

Nice plaque...every time I left a unit in the military they gave me a plaque. Normally small, very tastefully done, with a quick time frame and inscription of what I did. I have them hanging up and they mean a lot more to me than actual military awards/ribbons.

if it's like a high stakes comp with an expensive admission then a cash prize with some kind of trophy, plaque, coin, etc and/or the latest and greatest archery toy. Like a new bow or something.

I think a $50 gift certificate to a locally owned archery shop would be the best, alot of people will be appealed by a monetary value item, but cash just doesn't get many people as excited, a $50 bill is likely to get spent to put gas in the tank on the way home. However, $50 dedicated to getting a new toy for your bow, go towards a new set of strings, arrows or whatever is pretty awesome, it has to be spent on something archery. And an even bigger benefit, you will be helping to support a locally owned archery shop instead of the Cabela's/Bass Pro/Sportsman's Warehouse monopoly, if someone has a $50 certificate, they will likely spend more than that $50 when they go to cash it in, helping out that business even more.

Just one guys opinion!

I think it really depends on the individual and his experience in shooting competition. When I first started competitive archery, I liked the trophy or cash - really didn't matter to me. However, after winning about 10+ trophies and trying to find a place to put them, I now definitely prefer the money to offset the cost of travel and equipment. I have even given my trophies away to the highest scoring young kid at the event. I definitely hate gift certificates. I earned the money so I should be able to spend it the way I want and not be forced to shop at a particular store. That particular store may not even be available where I live. So, why should someone else decide where I should spend my earned money = socialism.

Unless you don't live near that archery shop or don't like it.
I guess it would depend on the kind of competition. If it's just a local one, not likely to draw much attention from outside the general area, I like the idea of a gift cert. However if it is a regional, statewide or national type competition, I certainly see your point. Guess it just comes down the intention of the match....
