Would you mind sharing your load recipe?
I posted it last night in the hammer hunter spreadsheet thread. I have yet to shoot it for groups because I just got the rifle and only done a pressure test so far but I'll be shooting for groups this weekend. I had it up to 3267 (88.5gr of retumbo) but that load showed decent pressure, more than I'd like so I'll back off to 3225 which should be ideal assuming it groups which I think/hope it will.

26" proof carbon barrel
199 hammer hunters
Virgin Lapua brass
Cci lrm
20 thou jump
88gr of retumbo

I know the 280 Rem is not on the list... :(

Years ago I had a Mauser Mark X action barreled with a Douglas # 1 barrel in 280 Rem. It ended up with a Browns Precision stock. I just had it modified to 280 AI... Lots of water has gone under the bridge, but to start all over, I'd go with a .280 AI... Life is like a circle... you usually end up about where you started. DD62

If I had no big game rifles/was starting over it would imply something bad happened to my old ones. There are cartridges I don't currently have rifles chambered in that I'd like to but first order of business would be replacing my primary 3 chamberings:
.243 win
.270 win
.300 win mag. I don't foresee these ever being dethroned for me.

I was going to leave this one alone but since I have achieved my goal of a 300 win mag I will have to change it to the last cartridge I regret loosing.. 270-264 Win Mag.

If I had to start all over again it would be a 6mm Creedmoor. 7.5-8 twist, 95 Berger VLD, 108 Hornady ELDM, 87 VMax, 95 Barnes, a limited assortment of small & large primer brass, 24-26 # 4 barrel, an assortment of H4350, R-S Hunter, Win Staball, AL 16 & 17, powders. A scope with a max power of 24 X. Used for mostly rodents with some deers. Like to shoot heavier bullets than avail in .224.

My prior thread was for the purpose of creating the finalist candidates for this poll.

So the question is SPECIFICALLY, if you had to start all over with currently having no big game rifles, in which of these cartridges would you chamber your next big game rifle?
I guess I'm too late to vote now, I wonder if opinions have changed since 2009?
