Yellowstone Bison

No, my spouse and I did not get out of the car to pet them.

But some others were oblivious.
PS: they smell something bad....could not want to pet one. o_O o_O o_O
 
I grew up in Custer, SD and buffalo/tourist encounters were way too common.

Back in the '70s I recall a greyhound bus hit a bull buffalo (or the other way around) and did substantial damage to the bus. A quick google search doesn't turn up pictures for me, but here's a few pictures of a truck and camper that didn't turn out well with a buffalo collision (for either party).

I doudt it, these idiots be doing this stuff for years. I saw this crap as far back as 1989
Back in 1974 when I was a kid we moved across the states and stopped at Yellowstone. We saw people getting close to the bears for pictures. I remember my brother and I wondering if that was safe or smart. Mom and Dad said it was neither lol.
