I was getting all of my stuff ready to go to the range to test some new loads and decided I needed to take off the sling studs from the stock. While removing the studs, I noticed that there were marks in the stock where the bolt handle was striking the stock.

So I got to checking and the bolt handle was hitting the stock enough that it was not fully closing. I took an Exacto knife and went to work on it to relieve the factory fiberglass stock until I had a thin piece of paper clearance on the bolt handle and stock. Now I get the correct sound of metal contacting metal when I close the bolt.

It was just an interesting experience that I thought I would share. Here are a couple of pictures showing the amount I carved off the stock.

Good you spotted it. I have used a dremill with a small sanding drum, it worked well.
